Life Balance Yoga
• Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:00 pm with Stacy
• Wednesdays at 10:00 am with Bethany
• Saturdays at 9:00 am with Stacy
Developed by yoga teacher, occupational therapist, and Living Room Yoga owner, Stacy Renz, Life Balance Yoga is alignment-based and emphasizes the individual's needs even within the class setting. Participants are given the opportunity at the start of class to examine "how it is in the body right now" to determine what kind of practice will best benefit them that day. Props and individualized attention are used to help each student get the most out of each class.
Level 1-2 Classes offer the basics for beginners along with opportunities for greater challenge for the more experienced practitioner.
Level 2-3 Classes are taught by Living Room Yoga owner Stacy Renz. While these classes can be quite challenging in terms of strength, stamina and flexibility, Stacy gives options for beginners, intermediate students, and advanced students within each class.
What unifies all Life Balance Yoga classes is its aim to help individuals in class participate in a way that balances out the effects of their particular lifestyles on their bodies. In addition, because it is alignment-based (versus flow), it allows students to find their way to their best alignment in each posture as they build strength, stamina, and flexibility. What makes each class unique are the diverse backgrounds and interests of each Life Balance yoga teacher as well as the needs of the students who show up each class. We recommend that you try both teachers for a diverse experience and to see which one resonates most with you.

When students are ready for a greater challenge, Ellen demonstrates the next level of difficulty of each asana to provide just the right amount of challenge. Ellen conducts her classes with exquisite music choices that facilitate easy alignment with unity consciousness, the ultimate goal of yoga.

Classes for Stress & Anxiety
LIFE BALANCE YOGA FOR STRESS
• Tuesdays at 7:30 pm with Stacy
• Thursdays at 7:30 pm with Gail
If you are a chronically stressed or tense person you will likely be surprised by the level of deep relaxation you achieve through restorative yoga, and also by how refreshed you feel afterwards. Enjoy! This class utilizes supported yoga postures to "turn on" the parasympathetic nervous system (our internal calming mechanism) and "switch off" our sympathetic nervous system (our "fight or flight" mechanism). Specifically, it calms down a racing mind, relieves sore, tight muscles, reduces the production of stress hormones, decreases water retention, lowers blood pressure, soothes the internal organs, and brings healing energy and oxygen to the entire body. In short, restorative yoga is an antedote to the immediate experience of stress as well as its longterm effects on the body and the psyche.
Who will benefit from restorative yoga? Persons who:
• Have a "type A" personality who is always striving for perfection and efficiency
• Experience anxiety, a racing heart, irrational fears, anger, or difficulty sleeping
• Suffer from chronic tension due to an active physical lifestyle or a sedentary one
• Need or desire to experience deep relaxation
• Feel a sense of exhaustion from stress
• Are recovering from illness
AMRIT METHOD YOGA NIDRA
Thursdays at 6:00 pm with Roger
Through a sequential series of simple induction techniques using the body, breath, and awareness, enter a profound state of silent relaxation. In this deeply receptive state of relaxation, the root causes of stress can dissolved and resolved through the use of "self-directed intention." This simple practice can be done lying on the the floor or sitting comfortably in a chair. The most difficult aspect of this practice is to not fall asleep! The dynamic techniques you will learn in this class will enable you to, spontaneously and effortlessly, shape and create the quality-of-life changes you have always wanted to make.
